The mayor's office of Chisinau extended until December 28 consultations on the draft decision on the approval of local fees for 2024.

This decision was made taking into account the fact that the proposed draft decision has a significant economic impact on the business environment. The extension will also allow all interested parties to participate in the consultations. Consultations are planned in the near future with the Economic Advisory Council under the Mayor of Chisinau, as well as with business associations and other interested parties. As previously reported by the InfoMarket agency, the basic version of the project provides for an increase in local tax rates in the municipality of Chisinau in 2024 by an average of 6% compared to 2023. In 2024, fees for territory improvement will increase - up to 185 lei per year for 1 employee; for advertising placement - up to 5.8% of the income from the sale of services for placement and/or distribution of advertising; for the use of local symbols and for organizing auctions and lotteries - up to 0.3%, for parking - up to 35 lei per year per 1 sq. m; for temporary residence – up to 5.3% of income from sales of services. The fee for advertising devices is proposed to be approved in the amount of 865 lei per year per 1 sq. m applied to an advertising device, while for advertising applied to vehicles the fee will be 400 lei per month. Market fees will also increase. At the current level, it is proposed to maintain the fee for dog owners - 120 lei per animal, as well as the fee for sanitary cleaning - 10 lei per person. The local fee for entities that provide passenger transportation services in taxi mode is planned to increase from 370 to 400 lei per month per vehicle, while the fees for entities that serve regular routes will remain at the current level (from 325 to 700 lei per month, depending on the route).
