
For 6 months 2023 of the Customs Service did not fulfill the plan for deductions to the budget, although it exceeded the revenues received in the same period last year.
According to the published data, in January-June 2023, revenues administered by the Customs Service amounted to 16.3 billion lei (42.9% of the plan). At the same time, the amount of deductions of the Customs Service to the national public budget by 4.9% exceeded the figures for 2022. The largest amount of revenues of the Customs Service was received from the payment of VAT by economic entities - 11.26 billion lei (69.1% of all deductions of the department to the budget). Compared to January-June 2022, the amount of VAT paid increased by 0.5%. About 23% of revenues were excises on imports - 3.7 billion lei, which is 19.1% more than in the same period last year. Herewith, imported oil products, tobacco products and vehicles provide the Customs Service with the highest income from excise duties: 44.9%, 29.7% and, respectively, 18.6%. The total amount of excise taxes on petroleum products in the reporting period amounted to 1.67 billion lei (+14.2% compared to the same period last year), on tobacco products - 1.1 billion lei (+23.3%), vehicles - 0.7 billion lei (+28.5%). Meanwhile, for 6 months the amount of excises paid on imports of liquefied gas amounted to 110.5 million lei (3% in the structure of excises), an increase of 10% compared to 6 months of 2022; when importing vodka, liqueurs, divins and other alcoholic beverages - 69.3 million lei (1.7% of all excises), or 24.4% more, beer - 44.7 million lei (1.2%), or 22.1% more, etc. In addition to VAT and excises, part of the budget revenues administered by the Customs Service was provided by customs duties (5.8%) and fees for customs procedures (2.2%).
