Economic agents from the Transnistrian region of Moldova will be charged customs duties for customs procedures, starting August 10.
According to the amendments to the Law on Customs Tariff, introduced by the Parliament as part of the package of legislative changes related to the fiscal policy for 2024 and published in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova), the import-export operations of companies located on the territory of Moldova, but not having tax relations with its budgetary system, are subject to customs procedures fee. Until now, economic agents from the Transnistrian region were exempted from the customs procedures fee, according to the procedure approved by the Government. The introduced amendments, in derogation from the norms of the legislation, took effect on August 10. As the Moldovan Customs Service specified, when clearing goods placed under the import regime, economic agents from the Transnistrian region now pay 0.4% of their customs value, but not more than 1,800 euros, and when clearing goods placed for export - 0.1% of the contractual value of the goods, taking into account the costs related to transportation to the border, but not more than 500 euros. // 10.08.2023 - InfoMarket.
