Individuals carrying out independent activities can import goods without an intermediary, declaring them and paying the appropriate taxes and fees.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, referring to the data of the Customs Service, notes that independent entrepreneurs have the right to import only goods that are the subject of their activities. At the same time, they must present to the customs authorities a minimum package of documents: confirmation of tax registration issued by the State Tax Service; commercial documents for the declared goods (contract of sale, bill, invoice, receipt, etc.); completed by an independent entrepreneur form of customs declaration type DV-6. “An individual carrying out independent activities in the field of trade has the right to import goods on his own, without contacting a broker and without spending additional funds on intermediary services, for example, on filing a customs declaration. An independent entrepreneur, having declared imported goods and paid import duties, can sell them almost immediately,” said Igor Iurco, head of the customs control department of the Customs Service of Moldova. Recall that the status of an individual with independent entrepreneurial activity in the field of retail trade provides for the possibility of annual sales of up to 1.2 million lei, applying the lowest income tax rate in Moldova and in Europe - 1% of sales, while this category of self-employment provides for a minimum reporting and lack of accounting. Herewith, this category of entrepreneurs must independently purchase a medical insurance policy, pay contributions to the state social insurance budget and local fees for placing a trading unit.//26.07.2023 – InfoMarket.
