The Foreign Investors Association (FIA) proposes to approve excise tax rates for a 3-year period.
In recommendations sent to the Ministry of Finance on tax and customs policy measures for 2024, the FIA proposes approving excise tax rates for 2024-2026, thus ensuring financial predictability for businesses. "Most companies approve their business plans for 3 years; accordingly, we believe ensuring tax predictability is absolutely essential," the Association said. At the same time, it is proposed to freeze the amount of excise taxes on an absolute per-unit basis for 2024. FIA draws attention to the fact that the economy is in recession caused by very high inflation, which led to a decrease in purchasing power of consumers. Therefore, fiscal levers are needed to restore the economy, while at the same time stopping the feeding of inflation with fiscal elements. The Foreign Investors Association unites 25 companies, the biggest investors in Moldova, which have invested more than 2.3 billion euro in the Moldovan economy (18% of Moldova's GDP). Investments come from 14 countries and the companies included in the association employ about 21 thousand people. //23.03.2023 - InfoMarket.
