The State Tax Service (STS) reported this, noting that in the same period last year these revenues amounted to 26.95 million lei. The State Tax Service emphasized that as a result of voluntary compliance and informing actions in January-October 2022, 5105 individuals renting/using real estate were identified. For 442 individuals who rented immovable property and did not comply with the provisions of the legislation, the following payments to the budget were additionally charged: basic payments amounting to 316,400 lei, fine for late payment - 28,100 lei, fines - 37,000 lei. In total for 10 months of this year in the State Tax Service 16,802 contracts for real estate rent to other individuals were registered. The State Tax Service recalls that, in accordance with the provisions of the Tax Code, individuals who are not engaged in entrepreneurial activities, renting real estate to other individuals for possession and / or use (for property lease, rent, and usufruct), pay a tax of 7% of the monthly value of the contract. These persons are obliged to register it with the State Tax Service within 7 days from the date of conclusion of the agreement. This tax is paid monthly, no later than the 25th day of the current month, in the manner prescribed by the State Tax Service. Citizens who do not fulfill these obligations are fined in accordance with the Tax Code.
