The Moldovan International Stock Exchange has outlined ambitious plans to expand the capital market and is preparing for the next phase of its development. At the forum in Chisinau, participants also discussed steps to accelerate the launch of trading, attract new participants, and strengthen integration with European markets.
The Moldovan Competition Council, with support from the World Bank, has begun an assessment of its work, which is intended to serve as the basis for the agency's future reforms. The assessment focuses on internal processes, resource allocation, and organizational structure, as well as a comparison with similar agencies in other countries; a roadmap for change is expected to result from this process.
New regulations governing the provision of state aid to finance investment risks have taken effect in Moldova. The document specifies the circumstances under which such support may be considered compatible with competition, as well as how the relevant schemes will be evaluated, monitored, and reported on.
