This was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and Ulrich Schmitt, the World Bank's Country Director for Moldova, during which they discussed projects being implemented in Moldova with World Bank support, as well as the country's development priorities for the coming period. The Prime Minister highly commended the support provided by the World Bank to Moldova and emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing available resources so that investments yield concrete results for the people and the economy. The parties discussed continuing cooperation in priority areas such as infrastructure development, energy sustainability, digitalization, agriculture, and the improvement of public services. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan reaffirmed the government's openness to ongoing dialogue and the implementation of measures that will help advance current projects and launch new initiatives. As noted, the World Bank Group's current active portfolio in Moldova includes 14 operations totaling 735.4 million euros: 11 investment projects, one budget support program, and two projects at an advanced stage of preparation. The projects cover areas such as energy and energy efficiency, water supply and sanitation, agriculture and irrigation, education, health care and rehabilitation services, small and medium-sized enterprise development, rural infrastructure, and resilience building. In total, over 45 operations worth approximately 1.6 billion euros have been implemented in Moldova during the period of cooperation with the World Bank.
