Prime Minister Vasile Tofan made this statement during a meeting with representatives of several business processes outsourcing (BPO) companies that are tenants of Moldova IT Park (MITP). The head of the Cabinet outlined the priorities of the government's program aimed at developing the economy and improving the efficiency of the state. The prime minister assured them that the government would continue to support companies investing in Moldova. At the same time, Vasile Tofan emphasized that the Cabinet of Ministers has no intention of changing the special tax regime applied to MITP residents, thereby ensuring predictability for the companies' operations in the coming years. Representatives of the BPO community discussed specific challenges facing this new and rapidly growing sector, where legislation does not always keep pace with emerging business models. Currently, the BPO sector in Moldova employs about 6,000 people and offers competitive salaries, which helps create attractive career opportunities for young people and keeps them in the Moldovan labor market. In this context, company representatives called for a balanced approach from the authorities, ongoing dialogue, and solutions that would eliminate potential inconsistencies without harming the companies' operations. Discussions also focused on the procedures for regulating economic entities. The Prime Minister emphasized that the government supports inspections that are proportionate to the nature of the identified violations and opposes the use of unjustified coercive measures. The parties also discussed new technologies, Moldova's potential in the context of artificial intelligence development, and the measures the state must take to maintain its competitiveness in the digital sphere. As previously reported, in 2025, the total revenue of MITP resident companies exceeded $1 billion, setting a historic record for Moldova's IT sector. Specifically, the total revenue of MITP resident companies amounted to 18.9 billion lei (equivalent to $1 billion). This figure is 24.3% higher than in 2024 and nearly 10 times higher than in 2018—the year the park was founded. The number of companies based at MITP grew more than eightfold from 2018 to 2025—from 338 to 2,725. Moldova Innovation Technology Park—Europe's first e-Park—is stimulating growth in the technology sector through the implementation of favorable fiscal policies, including an innovative flat tax of 7% of revenue.
