According to the Customs Service, from August 24 to 31, approximately 22.6 million lei (2.4% of total revenue) came from individuals who imported goods into Moldova in excess of the tax-free limits. In total, over the past week, customs officials processed nearly 12,900 declarations, and vehicles crossed the state border approximately 124,100 times—an increase of 18.3% compared to the previous week. The heaviest traffic was recorded at the Leuşeni and Sculeni customs posts—27,800 and 22,200 vehicle crossings, respectively.
