Both companies have submitted applications to the National Agency for Energy Regulation to increase heat tariffs. Specifically, Termoelectrica proposes raising the tariff from the current 2,020 to 3,689 lei per Gcal (+1,669 lei/82.6%), while CET-Nord is proposing an increase from 2,201 to 4,314 lei per Gcal (+2,113 lei/96%). At the same time, the companies requested increases in regulated prices for the electricity they generate: Termoelectrica—from 2.31 to 5.21 lei per kWh (2.2 times higher), CET-Nord — from 2.77 to 6.99 lei per kWh (2.5 times). Termoelectrica's application is dated September 17, and CET-Nord's is dated September 18; they are to be reviewed by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NARE). Both companies based their calculations on actual operating results for January–September and forecasts for the remainder of 2026. Specifically, for October–December, they used a forecast for the TTF Front Month index of 82.35 euros per MWh. Termoelectrica based its heat tariff calculation on an average gas price of 14,280 lei per 1,000 cubic meters, including 21,212 lei for October–December. CET-Nord estimates the average annual gas price at 13,019 lei per 1,000 cubic meters, and at 20,715 lei for September–December. The current rates were approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NARE) on February 12 and took effect on February 13. As previously reported by InfoMarket, in February, the heat tariff for Termoelectrica customers was reduced by 490 lei per Gcal, while CET-Nord's tariff increased by 75 lei per Gcal.
