This was announced by the state-owned enterprise "Moldova Post," which provided information on new rules for online orders from abroad. As noted, VAT will be calculated based on the value of the goods in accordance with current national legislation. VAT can be paid in two ways: either when placing an order through the platform or the seller, if that option is available, or upon receipt of the shipment at "Moldova Post," if VAT was not paid in advance. Packages containing goods valued at more than 150 euros remain subject to current customs and tax laws. C2C (Consumer-to-Consumer) packages, including gifts and other packages sent between individuals, valued at less than 150 euros, are exempt from duties in accordance with current legislation and are not subject to the 20% VAT applicable to commercial B2C shipments. It is important to correctly declare the actual nature of the shipment and provide accurate information about its contents. Effective January 1, 2027, an administrative fee of 12 lei per shipment will be imposed on these shipments. This fee does not include VAT, nor does it include any customs duties or other applicable fees. As noted by "Moldova Post," to avoid delays in customs clearance and delivery, it is extremely important that the information provided be complete, accurate, and consistent with the actual contents of the shipment. The CN 22 or CN 23 customs declaration must be properly completed, correctly indicating the nature of the transaction, the value of the goods, a description of the contents, the country of origin, and other required information. Incomplete, incorrect, or inconsistent data may lead to delays in customs clearance and delivery of shipments. "Moldova Post" recommends that customers pay close attention to the declared information and, when placing an order, verify whether VAT is paid through the platform/seller or will need to be paid upon receipt of the shipment. In the event of a return, the VAT paid and the corresponding handling fee are non-refundable. // 23.10.2026 — InfoMarket
