According to the agency, this is stated in the European Commission's 2026 Enlargement Report, which confirms Moldova's progress in the process of joining the European Union. Our country has made progress across all negotiation chapters and has reached a higher level of preparedness in 25 of them. For the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the European Commission's report generally highlights good progress in the areas covered by the Economic Criterion, as well as in the eight negotiation chapters under the Ministry's purview. The assessment covers areas of critical importance for economic development, corporate competitiveness, market functioning, and digital transformation. Progress in these areas means that products meet European standards, easier access to the EU market, simplified regulations for companies, fair competition, investment, and a more competitive industry. At the same time, it aims to develop modern digital services, online security, consumer protection, and new opportunities for Moldovan exporters. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization stated that it is contributing to the fulfillment of the Economic Criterion, which focuses on the functioning of a market economy and the ability of Moldovan companies to compete with European counterparts. The report highlights progress on reforms and identifies priorities for strengthening preparations for accession. At the same time, the "Roadmap" for Moldova provides for the possibility of closing eight chapters under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization in 2027, depending on the implementation of the necessary reforms. // 05.11.2026 — InfoMarket
