In Moldova, the employment status of more than 6,000 informally employed workers has been formalized

Moldova has stepped up oversight of informal employment: as a result of inspections, thousands of workers have been brought into the formal sector, and the labor inspectorate has recorded a significant increase in the number of inspections and violations. At the same time, a meeting of the Economic Council discussed new approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of oversight, expanding employment measures, and a potential mechanism that could open up additional opportunities for people with disabilities.
