Constantin Borosan, director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency, made this statement, noting that in the first half of 2026, there were 7 suppliers operating in the liberalized electricity market and 12 in the liberalized natural gas market; 6 of them supplied gas to residential consumers. Currently, six natural gas supply offers for residential consumers are available through the price comparison tool. Switching suppliers is free of charge. Electricity or natural gas service is not interrupted during the switching process. The switch to a new supplier takes place within 20 calendar days. As a rule, the consumer and the supplier agree that the switch to the new supplier will take effect on the first day of the calendar month. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) notes that, thanks to the liberalization of the energy market, consumers now have more options when choosing a supplier. To help them explore and compare available offers, ANRE has launched a special price comparison tool. This free, publicly available digital service at www.anre.md allows users to compare electricity and natural gas offers based on their individual consumption profiles. Simply enter a few details about your consumption, and the system will display available offers along with estimated annual costs. // 17.09.2026 — InfoMarket
