The state-owned company Energocom reported this, noting that, in particular, on July 24, the price of gas on the exchange stood at 63.50 euros/MWh, compared to 61.9 euros/MWh the day before. At the same time, trends over the past two weeks show a significant increase in market pressure. From €46.58/MWh on July 7, the price rose to €63.50/MWh on July 24, representing an increase of €16.92/MWh (+36.3%). The price of natural gas traded in Europe consistently reflects market expectations and perceived risks. During this period, prices have been influenced by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, risks associated with the transit of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through key maritime routes, including the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, as well as a reduction in LNG flows to Europe. Another important factor is intensifying global competition for LNG. Reference prices in Asia and the U.S. have risen sharply since July 13, while exports from Qatar remain subject to regional uncertainty. At the same time, LNG flows to Northwestern Europe remain below the 30-day average, which is putting additional pressure on the European market ahead of the cold season. In this context, the request for a tariff adjustment submitted by Energocom is based on trends in actual purchase prices, high volatility in international prices, and the need to fulfill supply commitments. The aim of this measure is to adapt the tariff structure to current market conditions and maintain the company’s ability to enter into contracts for the necessary volumes of natural gas. // 24.07.2026 — InfoMarket.
