The gas tariff for household consumers of Moldovagaz has been reduced by 19.9% - from 18.07 to 14.47 lei per 1 cubic meter, including VAT.
This decision was adopted on Wednesday by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). In particular, by the ANRE's decision, which will take effect on February 23, after its publication in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova), the new gas tariff at the exit points of high pressure gas distribution networks will amount to 9129 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters, without VAT (-33.2% / 4537 lei), while in case of low pressure networks - 10076 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters (-29.9% / 4305 lei) without VAT (-33.2% / 4537 lei), medium pressure - 10076 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters (-29.9% / 4305 lei), and in case of low pressure networks, to which all household and part of non-household consumers are connected - 13398 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters (-19.9% / 3332 lei). At the same time, including VAT, the gas tariff for household and other consumers who receive gas through low-pressure networks will decrease by 19.9% - from 18.07 to 14.47 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters. According to ANRE, the objective factors that led to the revision of regulated prices for natural gas supplied for 2024 are: the decrease in the average annual price of natural gas purchase from $750 to $518 per 1 thousand cubic meters; the dynamics of the average annual exchange rate of the national currency against the US dollar (USD), projected for 2024, calculated on the basis of the average annual exchange rate for the last 12 months, at the level of 18.04 lei per USD compared to the average annual exchange rate of 18.99 lei (MDL) per USD included in the current tariff; increase in the cost of natural gas distribution service by 32%, transportation by 35% and in the supplier's expenses directly related to the supply service, which increased 3 times as a result of inclusion of financial contributions related to securities by 350 million lei. Taking into account the objective factors, the average price of natural gas supply was calculated by the agency at the level of 11136 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters, which is 4123 lei (27%) lower than the average price in force and 1026 lei (8.4%) lower than the price requested by Moldovagaz. Thus, household consumers will pay 3.33 lei less than the current price (excluding VAT) for 1 cubic meter of natural gas. // 21.02.2024 – InfoMarket
