From 1 January 2024, the limit on tax-free B2C postal items is 150 euros, and some goods are not subject to these limits.

According to the new Customs Code, consignments of goods sent directly from a foreign country to a recipient in Moldova and containing items whose domestic value does not exceed 150 euros per consignment are not subject to import duties. At the same time, for the first time since this year, the duty-free limit does not apply to perfumes and eau de toilette. Also not subject to exemption are alcoholic beverages, tobacco and tobacco products, as well as supplies that are not of an occasional nature. Herewith, the law does not specify the permissible frequency of deliveries. Meanwhile, from January 1, the tax-free value of goods sent by an individual from abroad to another individual located in Moldova (unaccompanied baggage) is 150 euros, and the import should not be commercial. Non-commercial imports include shipments that are incidental in nature, they contain goods intended solely for the personal use of the recipient or his/her family, the goods are not intended for sale in nature or quantity, and the shipment is carried out without any obligation to pay. For some goods, there are quantitative restrictions: an individual from another country can send to an individual in Moldova no more than 40 cigarettes, 40 tobacco sticks for devices for heating tobacco, 25 cigars, 10 cigarillos and 50 grams of smoking tobacco; within 1 liter of strong alcohol and up to 1 liter of champagne, liqueurs, aperitifs and other drinks with a lower alcohol concentration, as well as regular wines - up to 2 liters. You can also carry up to 50 ml of perfume and 250 ml of eau de toilette as unaccompanied baggage. In the new year, the previously existing financial thresholds for goods contained in the personal luggage of passengers arriving from other countries have been retained: for air and sea transport passengers, the maximum permitted domestic value of goods in personal luggage is limited to 430 euros per person, and for land transport - 300 euros. For both categories of passengers, there are quantitative restrictions on tobacco products and alcoholic beverages. // 15.01.2024 — InfoMarket.
