Moldova will get access to EU grant funds to finance infrastructure projects in transport, energy and digital technologies.

In particular, this is provided for by the Agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the participation of our country in the EU program "Connecting Europe Facility", ratified by the Moldovan Parliament. The document was signed in Chisinau on May 9, 2023. It is planned that Moldova's accession to "Connecting Europe Facility" will contribute to facilitating trans-border cooperation in the field of energy from renewable sources. At the same time, this EU financial mechanism will contribute to the implementation of projects of common interest for effective, safe and secure transport infrastructure, as well as the introduction of high-capacity digital networks. As InfoMarket agency earlier reported, Moldova is the first non-EU country to sign the Agreement on accession to "Connecting Europe Facility" and will get access to EU 26 billion euros funding for infrastructure development. This European mechanism, with a budget of 26 billion euros for 2021-2027, finances projects in the field of transport, energy and digital infrastructure of the EU. The signed Agreement will allow project initiators from Moldova to apply for EU funding for projects of common interest in transport, energy and digital technologies, aimed at improving Moldova's connectivity with its EU neighbors. The Agreement will support Moldova's integration into the EU single market, while contributing to economic growth, job creation and increased competitiveness. The signed Agreement will contribute to attracting investments to develop the road and rail transport infrastructure, implement energy efficiency and decarbonization projects, and will facilitate the digitalization of the transport and energy systems. // 15.06.2023 – InfoMarket
