
In January-September 2022, Moldova received over 364.7 million euros and $133.15 million (over 9.67 billion lei) of external loans to support the budget.
This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance on obtaining external loans / grants to support the state budget for 9 months of 2022. As noted, in general, in January-September 2022, Moldova received loans for 364 million 702 thousand 080.38 euros and $133 million 146 thousand 093.42, which is equivalent to 9 billion 673 million 026.2 thousand lei. At the same time, 7 billion 731 million 714 thousand 762.87 lei of this amount were loans, and 1 billion 941 million 311 thousand 412 lei were grants. In particular, on February 4, Moldova received $615.64 thousand (the equivalent of 11.09 million lei) in a loan from the International Development Association (IDA) for the Tax Administration Modernization Project (TAMP), on May 13, Moldova received loans in the framework of the new Program with the IMF 55 million 067 thousand 546.56 euros and $86 million 547 thousand 740.94 (1 billion 087 million 237.1 thousand lei and 1 billion 637 million 137 thousand 067.62 lei). In addition, Moldova received more than $8.69 million or 165.5 million lei on June 9 in the form of a loan to support the budget from the IDA for healthcare reforms. Meanwhile, on August 19, a loan of 40.8 million euros (798.02 million lei) was received from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development within the framework of the Operations for Development Policies project. On August 22, a loan of 101.3 million euros (1 billion 960.29 million lei) was received from the International Development Association (IDA) for the Operations for Development Policies project. Also on August 22, the International Development Association transferred a loan of $962.24 thousand (18.51 million lei) for the Tax Administration Modernization Project (TAMP). On September 23, loans worth $26.6 million (517.3 million lei) were received within the framework of the new IMF program. On August 26, the European Investment Bank provided Moldova with a loan of 7.93 million euros (153.45 million lei) for the capitalization of the State Enterprise "Railway of Moldova". On July 15, the Polish government provided Moldova with a loan of 20 million euros (387 million lei), and on August 5, the French Development Agency transferred a loan of 15 million euros (295.17 million lei). On August 1, the European Commission allocated a loan of 34.6 million euros (684.47 million lei) and a grant of 15 million euros (296.74 million lei) as part of macro-financial assistance. The International Development Association (IDA) presented on August 17 a loan of $447.3 thousand (8.6 million lei) for healthcare reforms. At the same time, on August 18 was received a grant of $9.24 million (177.63 million lei) from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development within the framework of the Operations for Development Policies project, and a grant of 75 million euros (1 billion 466.9 million lei) was received from the European Commission on August 19 under the contract on state consolidation and sustainability for our country. // 02.02.2023 — InfoMarket
