The volume of capital expenses in the state budget of Moldova in 2022 is expected to amount to 7 billion 472.5 million leis and will be reduced by 349.8 million leis (- 4.5%) as compared with the figure approved earlier.
This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance to the draft amendments to the Law on the State Budget for 2022, which will soon be considered and approved by the government. The decrease will be mostly caused by a 395.6 million-lei decrease in expenses for the project "COVID-19 Emergency Response and Support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises". Capital investments are expected to increase by 419.7 million lei (+15.2%) and will amount to 3 billion 181.6 million lei (4.2% of the total state budget expenses). In order to continue the construction/reconstruction works, there are plans to increase allocations for the following capital investment projects: "Support for the Program in the road sector" - 682.6 million lei, "Rehabilitation of local roads" - 95 million lei, Modernization of the Sculeni customs post (Ungheni district) - 13.8 million lei, Construction of an admission room in the Emergency Medicine Institute - 6 million lei.
