A tender has been announced for the selection of a company to implement a project for the extension of Mircea cel Batrin Avenue in Chisinau, the cost of which exceeds 200 million lei.
The General Directorate for Public Transport and Transportation is holding a tender for the selection of contractors for the extension of the central street of Ciocana sector - Mircea cel Batrin Avenue with the continuation of trolleybus line to Bucovinei Street. The bids will be accepted from August 29 to September 20. The winner will be awarded a 24-month contract and the work must be completed by the end of 2025. The project involves the extension of a section of the avenue, previously built in the perimeter of Igor Vieru Street - Ion Dumeniuc Street to Bucovinei Street with the continuation of a trolleybus line. The road will have two traffic directions: two one-way carriageways, each with 3 traffic lanes. They will be separated by a green area with a sidewalk in the middle and a bicycle lane. On both sides of the roadway there will be technical and pedestrian sidewalks and a green area. A traffic circle will be built at the intersection of Mircea cel Batrin and Bucovina Street. A system of street lighting will be built on the new section of the road. The need to extend Mircea cel Batrin Avenue is one of the objectives of the development of urban infrastructure. In addition to the creation of a new access road to the sector of Ciocana and the development of social and economic infrastructure in this area, the connecting road will also help relieve traffic congestion in the sector of Riscani. // 17.08.2022 - InfoMarket
