According to an analytical material of the economic expert, based on official data of Moldovagaz, this year consumption has decreased by 30 million cubic meters (-23%) as compared to the average figure for the previous 8 years. The expert noted that it is premature to draw conclusions, but this result is most likely an indication of the adaptation process of household consumers and economic agents to new prices. The consumption of natural gas in the second quarter of 2022 amounted to 98.5 million cubic meters, the lowest figure registered in the past 9 years. Compared to 2021, when there was a record in gas consumption, consumption in 2022 decreased by 44% (-76.8 million cubic meters). This year's decrease in natural gas consumption was mainly due to a significant reduction in gas use by household consumers and economic agents in April, but there was also a significant reduction in consumption in other months compared with the previous year.
