
In the 1st quarter of 2022, Moldova received external state loans totaling $103.3 million (equivalent of 1 billion 846.9 million lei) which is by $41.6 million (67.3%) more compared to the same period of 2021.
As noted in the materials of the Ministry of Finance, in the structure of the inflow of foreign state loans by type of creditor, the largest share came from multilateral lenders. In particular, in January-March 2022, Moldova received the largest amount of credits from the International Monetary Fund - $79.8 million (77.2% of the total amount). Next follow the European Investment Bank - $7.9 million (7.7% of the total amount), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - $7.1 million (7%), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) - $5 million (4.8%), International Development Association (IDA) - $3.2 million (3%), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) - $0.3 million (0.3%). As regards the structure of external credits by directions, of the total amount, $22.9 million (the equivalent of 416.2 million lei) was received for realization of projects financed from external sources in the 1st quarter of this year, or 22.2% of the total amount and $80.4 million (the equivalent of 1 billion 430.7 million lei) for state budget support, or 77.8% of the total inflow of new external credits during this period. // 19.07.2022- InfoMarket.
