The Chisinau Municipal Council approved the pilot program "Startup for Youth and Migrants" with a total budget of 10 million lei.

The goal of the program is to stimulate entrepreneurship among young people and migrants in the municipality of Chisinau by facilitating the start-up and development of businesses and supporting job creation. Those who are just starting their own business will be able to receive a grant of up to 200 thousand lei. At the same time, young people who already own a business and have invested in it from credit resources will receive up to 100,000 lei in compensation for interest on loans paid over the past 24 months. The financial contribution of the applicant will have to be at least 30% of the costs required for the investment project. Four categories of project beneficiaries have been identified. The first is young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 40 who have a residence permit in Chisinau municipality and those wishing to open a business or having a business (in Chisinau municipality no more than 12 months) in the category of small and medium enterprises. The second category is labor migrants or their relatives of the 1st degree of kinship, aged 18-40, who have a residence permit in the municipality and own a business registered in Chisinau within the last 12 months. The third category is young investors aged 18 to 40 who already own a business and have made investments using credit resources over the past 24 months. They can apply for reimbursement of interest paid on investment loans taken to develop their business. In addition, applications can be submitted by young refugees who have formed a partnership with a young resident (both aged 18-40) who have a residence permit in Chisinau municipality and those who wish to open a business or already have a registered business in the territory of the municipality.
