
In the first quarter of 2022, the average monthly nominal salary in Moldova amounted to 9560.8 lei, an increase of 12.9% compared to the same period in 2021.
At the same time, compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, the average salary in the country decreased by 2.1%. In real terms, taking into account inflation growth, the average salary in the first quarter of 2022 decreased by 5.2%. As the National Bureau of Statistics told InfoMarket, in the first quarter of 2022, the average salary in the public sector amounted to 8,190.6 lei (+9.7% compared to the same period in 2021), and in the real sector of the economy - 10,054, 2 lei (+13.7%). The highest salaries in January-March 2022 were received by workers in the ICT sector - an average of 24,489 lei (+23% compared to the same period in 2021), financial and insurance industries - 17,365.9 lei (+12.6%), enterprises for the production and supply of electricity, gas, water, air conditioning - 12,989.4 lei (+6.1%), for specialists in the field of scientific and technical activities - 11,475.7 lei (+6.3%). The lowest salaries remain in the field of tourist accommodation and public catering - 6,130.4 lei (+20.1%), in agriculture, forestry and fishing - 6,258.2 lei (+29.4%), as well as in arts, recreation and entertainment - 6,610.7 lei (+11.9%). In the first quarter of 2022, the average salary of employees in the field of administrative services and ancillary activities amounted to 6,963 lei (+6.9%); in the field of transport and storage services - 7,587.4 lei (+14%); in real estate transactions – 7,764 lei (+12.7%); in the education system - 7,833.6 lei (+9.6%); in construction - 8,158.8 lei (+13.1%); in the field of trade, repair of cars and motorcycles - 8,715.6 lei (+ 16.8%); in the healthcare and social protection system - 10,781.4 lei (+1.3%); in the field of public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance - 10,829.8 lei (+9.7%). In the industrial sector, salaries averaged 8,633.6 lei (+12.8%), including in the processing industry - 8,194.2 lei (+15.3%); at enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste treatment and processing and restoration work - 7,788.9 lei (+2.2%); in the extractive industry - 7,487.9 lei (+14.3%), and the highest was in enterprises for the production and supply of electricity, gas, water, air conditioning - 12,989.4 lei (+6.1%). // 31.05.2022 — InfoMarket
