According to the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, the decrease in total public debt in January-March 2022 was due to the reduction of domestic public debt. At the same time, external public debt, expressed in lei, increased. In particular, the domestic public debt decreased by 1 billion 248.4 million lei (-3.8%) - from 33 billion 281.4 million lei (at the end of December 2021) to 32 billion 033 million lei (at the end of April 2022). At the same time, the external public debt in terms of MDL increased during the same period by 670.5 million lei (+1.5%) - from 44 billion 471.3 million to 45 billion 141.8 million lei. At the same time, the share of domestic public debt in the total public debt of Moldova at the end of April 2022 amounted to 41.5% (against 40.9% a month earlier), while the share of external public debt - 58.5% (59.1%). In general, the share of total public debt in GDP at the end of April 2022 is estimated at 28.2% against 32.1% at the end of 2021. At the same time, according to preliminary data, GDP in 2021 amounted to 241.87 billion lei, while at the end of 2022 it is projected at 273.5 billion lei. The Ministry of Finance noted that at the end of April 2022, the share of public debt due within one year was 26.2% of the total, while the Program "Public Debt Management in the medium term (2022-2024)" provides for parameters of 20-30%. The proportion of domestic public debt in total public debt amounted to 41.5% (previously approved parameters: 35-50%), the specific weight of foreign public debt in a particular currency in the total volume of external public debt at the end of April 2022 was 32.5% (approved parameters: 20-45%). The specific weight of the state debt with a variable interest rate in the total volume of the state debt amounted to 45.3% at the end of April 2022 (approved parameters: 25-45%). As InfoMarket agency earlier reported, the total national debt of Moldova increased by 9 billion 932 million lei (+14.6%) in 2021, amounting to 77 billion 752.7 million lei. At the same time, the internal public debt in 2021 increased by 4 billion 045.8 million lei (+13.8%) - from 29 billion 235.6 million lei (at the end of December 2020) to 33 billion 281.4 million lei (at the end of December 2021).
