Domestic producers showed their interest in this market during the last session of the Export Morning program organized by the Investment Agency of Moldova. The online meeting was attended by local manufacturers, entrepreneurs and experts from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, representatives of government agencies and others. State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Iuliana Dragalin noted that for the development of direct links between the markets of Moldova and the Baltic countries, it is necessary to create the necessary infrastructure. In particular, it is very important to open and allow direct flights from Chisinau to Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn. Iuliana Dragelin said that the ministry has already established a dialogue with the Latvian side on the opening of a Chisinau-Riga direct flight. The Secretary of State also said that trade and economic relations between Moldova and the Baltic countries have shown positive dynamics over the past 5 years. In January-November 2020, the volume of foreign trade between Moldova and the Baltic countris amounted to more than $45 million. Also, according to data provided by Iuliana Dragalin, in 2019 the volume of foreign direct investments from the Baltic States to Moldova amounted to $51.93 million, which is 1, 21% of the total investment in the country.
