Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has appointed Sergey Martynchuk as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Ukraine, Moldova, Southeast Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.

Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has appointed Sergey Martynchuk as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Ukraine, Moldova, Southeast Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.

As noted in the company’s announcement, Sergey Martynchuk will be based in Kyiv and will be responsible for overall operations and the implementation of Visa’s strategy across 17 countries. In this role, he succeeds Cristina Doros, who has moved into a new global role within the Value-Added Services division. Sergey Martynchuk will focus on strengthening cooperation with financial institutions, merchants, technology and government partners, as well as further developing digital payments in the region. “We are pleased to welcome Sergey Martynchuk to Visa,” said Tareq Muhmood, Visa’s Regional President for Central Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He noted that Sergey Martynchuk’s extensive experience in technology, strong leadership skills at the regional level, and proven ability to lead diverse teams will further strengthen Visa’s capabilities and help create even greater value for customers and partners across 17 countries. As noted in Visa’s announcement, Sergey Martynchuk has nearly 20 years of experience in regional leadership roles, most recently at Cisco, and combines deep expertise in technology transformation with proven experience in implementation and team leadership. He has led large organizations, driving growth and building trusting relationships with customers, partners, and regulators, and holds academic degrees in computer science and finance. “It is a great honor for me to join the Visa team and lead this region with its many markets at such a critical moment for the payments industry,” said Sergey Martynchuk. “Alongside our teams and partners, we will continue to develop digital payments for individuals and businesses, expand our money transfer solutions, and support customer base growth through additional services backed by technology, security, and high market relevance,” he said.
