The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has approved the appointment of Andreea-Marina Pipernea as an independent member of maib Board
The decision was adopted at a meeting of the NBM Executive Committee on August 14. maib announced this, noting that Andrea-Marina Pipernea comes to the Board with more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including banking, asset management, private pensions, insurance, and capital markets. From 2018 to 2023, she headed NN Pensii (a subsidiary of ING), Romania's largest private pension fund, and previously held key positions at Citi, Erste Group, and ABN AMRO Bank. She is a certified independent director (Henley Business School), managing partner of the consulting company APlus Advisory, and an angel investor in a number of startups, including in Moldova. maib Boarder Chairman Vytautas Plunksnis noted that the appointment of Andreea-Marina Pipernea “is an important step in strengthening the bank's corporate governance, and her expertise and strategic vision will add significant value to maib's decision-making process and sustainable development.” Andrea-Marina Pipernea said: “I am delighted to become part of the leading financial institution in Moldova.
