The net profit of banks in Moldova in 2023 amounted to 4 billion 123.4 million lei, increasing by 459.1 million lei (+12.5%) compared to 2022.

According to the National Bank of Moldova, all 11 banks in the country made a profit last year. At the same time, about 3 billion 628.9 million lei (88% of the total net profit) fell to the share of 4 banks: Maib, Moldindconbank, OTP Bank and Victoriabank. The remaining 7 banks earned approximately 494.5 million lei in net profit. Herewith, in 6 banks in January-December 2023, profit volumes increased compared to the same period in 2022, and in 5 banks it decreased. As follows from the data of the National Bank of Moldova, in particular, in 2023 the largest net profit was received by: Maib - 1 billion 249.96 million lei (in 2022 - 1 billion 130.85 million lei), Moldindconbank - 943.82 million lei (900.71 million lei), OTP Bank - 763.12 million lei (403.1 million) and Victoriabank – 672.01 million lei (641.77 million). Next in terms of net profit in 2023 are: FinComBank - 137.01 million lei (in 2022 - 131.59 million lei), ProCreditBank - 135.39 million lei (111.46 million lei), Energbank - 72.21 million lei (99.76 million lei), BCR Chisinau - 69.45 million lei (130.69 million lei), Eximbank - 49.09 million lei (67.08 million lei), EuroCreditBank - 22.54 million lei ( 34.51 million) and Comerțbank - 8.75 million lei (12.73 million). // 19.01.2024 - InfoMarket.
