The National Bank of Moldova announced the contest "Discover the monuments on Moldovan lei banknotes".
According to the National Bank of Mooldova (NBM), the contest will start on August 27, on the occasion of the Independence Day, and the winners will be announced on the National Currency Day, November 29, when it will be 30 years since the introduction of the Moldovan leu (MDL). The contest aims to support the civic feeling of the population related to the MDL and other historical values of our country. Thus, anyone, without age or citizenship restrictions, can participate in this open contest, which will highlight the historical places of Moldova depicted on MDL banknotes. Accordingly, participants shall send to the NBM at least 8 photos of banknotes in circulation, and each photo will represent a banknote photographed against the background of the monument depicted on it. Only original images will be accepted. It is stipulated that images edited in programs on which layers or masks have been applied will be rejected. The 30 winners will be selected by random drawing of lots during the official event organized by the NBM on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency, which will be broadcast live.
