
In January-September 2022, Moldovan banks’ income from exchange rate differences amounted to 1,211.3 million lei, up 355 million lei (+41.5%), as compared to the same period of 2021.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, the largest foreign exchange gains in 9 months of 2022 were recorded by maib: 356.88 million lei against 239.82 million lei for the same period last year. OTP Bank ranked 2nd by this indicator, having earned in January-September 2022 over 196 million lei, while in the same period a year earlier it amounted to 127.53 million lei. The 3rd place was taken by Victoriabank, whose similar income for 9 months in 2022 amounted to 179.45 million lei against 107.94 million lei for the same period in 2021.
