IuteCredit Europe acquired another 8.09% stake in the Moldovan Energbank and increased its stake in it to 67.8%.
In particular, the transaction for the sale and purchase of 161,892 shares (8.09%) of Energbank at a price of 213.04 lei per share for a total amount of 34 million 489 thousand 471.68 lei was registered on the Stock Exchange of Moldova on February 21. It should be noted that on January 12, IuteCredit Europe announced the acquisition of 9.976% (199,519) shares of Energbank at a price of 170.44 lei per share during a transaction on the Stock Exchange of Moldova, the total amount of the transaction was 1.7 million euros. On February 10, it became known that IuteCredit Europe acquired on the Moldovan Stock Exchange another 49.7% stake in the Moldovan Energbank (994,645 shares at a price of 170.44 lei per share) at a total price of 169 million 527.3 thousand lei (approximately 8.3 million euros), and became its majority shareholder with a total stake of over 59.7% of the shares. Thus, in general, after the purchase today of 8.09% of Energbank, IuteCredit will already own 67.8% of the shares of the Moldovan bank. Earlier, IuteCredit received approval from the National Bank for the purchase of Energbank. “We are working on a quick and orderly transition to a full shareholding and operational management of the bank. Our goal is to obtain the maximum share of the bank's ownership and buy back the rest of the shares on market terms. The National Bank of Moldova has approved the acquisition of a qualified stake in the authorized capital of Energbank,” Tarmo Sild, CEO of IuteCredit Europe, explained earlier. The authorized capital of Energbank is 100 million lei and is divided into 2 million shares with a par value of 50 lei. Energbank has been operating in the financial market of Moldova for 25 years. During this time, the bank has become one of the best mid-sized financial institutions in the country, with total assets of 2.97 billion lei (148 million euros) at the end of 2021.
