
Moldovan banks’ net profit in January 2022 amounted to 244.7 million lei, up 78.9 million (+47.6%) compared to the same period in 2021.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, in the first month of this year, all 11 banks received profit. At the same time, about 209.82 million lei (85.7% of the total net profit) accounted for four banks: maib, Moldindconbank, Victoriabank and OTP Bank. Another 7 banks earned approximately 34.9 million lei of net profit. At the same time, 9 out of 11 banks registered in January 2022 a larger profit relative to the same period in 2021, 1 bank registered a decrease in profit, and 1 bank received a profit against losses for that the same period a year earlier. As follows from the data provided by the National Bank, in particular, in January 2022, the largest net profit was received by: Moldindconbank - 74.41 million lei (in January 2021 - 46.23 million lei), Victoriabank - 60.35 million lei (19.7 million), maib - 47.15 million lei (41.59 million) and OTP Bank - 27.91 million lei (44.3 million).
