
The net profit of Moldovan banks in 2021 amounted to 2 billion 304.2 million lei, an increase of 803 million (+53.5%) compared to 2020.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, all 11 banks received profit last year. At the same time, about 2 billion 000.8 million lei (86.8% of the total net profit) fell on the share of 4 banks: maib, Moldindconbank, Victoriabank and OTP Bank. Another 7 banks earned approximately 303.4 million lei of net profit. Herewith, at 10 out of 11 banks that made a profit in 2021, its volumes increased compared to 2020, and one bank made a profit this year against losses for the same period a year earlier. As follows from the data provided by the National Bank, in particular, in 2021, the largest net profit was received by: maib - 721.77 million lei (in 2020 - 523.81 million lei), Moldindconbank - 711.97 million lei (432 .19 million), Victoriabank - 295.04 million lei (235.92 million) and OTP Bank - 272 million lei (143.54 million).
