Moldova: The volume of new term deposits in November 2021 amounted to 2 billion 856.8 million lei, up 34.9%, compared with November 2020.

According to the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), the proportion of deposits attracted in MDL was 66.7%, in foreign currency - 33.3%. In particular, the volume of deposits attracted in national currency amounted to 1 billion 906.4 million lei, up 13.7%, compared to the previous month, as well as up 26%, compared to November 2020. At the same time, funds attracted in foreign currency, recalculated in MDL, amounted to 950.4 million lei, up 15.9% compared to the previous month, and 57.2% more compared to November 2020. According to the NBM, in November 2021, deposits attracted were mainly represented by deposits of individuals - 73.3% of the total, while 45.9% were deposits attracted in national currency, and 27.4% - in foreign currency. The most attractive in terms of maturity were deposits attracted for a period of 6 to 12 months, which accounted for 29.9% of the total volume of term deposits.
