According to the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), the discussion focused on areas of mutual interest in the spirit of transparency and institutional accountability. Topics such as international cooperation to strengthen financial institutions and promote best practices in banking management were touched upon, which is an important condition for stimulating US investment in Moldova's economy. The dialogue also covered macroeconomic trends and the need to continue reforms in Moldova's banking sector, which is stable and in the process of complying with the highest European standards. In this context, it was emphasized that in just a few days Moldova will become an active part of SEPA – the Single Euro Payments Area, which will strengthen European financial integration and ensure fast and secure cross-border transactions. The NBM Governor Anca Dragu emphasized that the NBM acts as an accelerator for the development of a modern financial and banking system aimed at supporting a competitive and stable economy in line with European legislation. “Dialogue and exchange of experience are important for the NBM to adapt to technological challenges, strengthen public confidence in the banking system, and develop a modern economy that will ensure better living conditions for Moldovan citizens,” Anca Dragu noted. Diplomatic relations between Moldova and the United States were established in 1991, and economic and technical cooperation has grown steadily in recent years.
