A delegation of the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, headed by Anca Dragu, participates in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF

According to the National Bank's press service, the meetings are held from April 21 to 26 in Washington, D.C. The Moldovan delegation also includes NBM First Vice Governor Petru Rotaru and Vice Governor Mihnea Constantinescu, as well as Finance Minister Victoria Belous. The program of the visit includes meetings with high-level representatives of the IMF, the WB Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as other international institutions and organizations. The event provides a platform for dialog of decision makers in the international financial sector in the context of current economic and geopolitical challenges. Within the visit, the NBM delegation will hold bilateral meetings on the priority directions of the financial sector development in Moldova. It is planned that the NBM Governor will meet several IMF representatives, including Deputy Managing Director of the IMF Kenji Okamura, Director of the IMF European Department Alfred Kammer, Executive Director for Moldova at the IMF Jeroen Cliqc and Head of the IMF Mission in Moldova Alina Iancu. The National Bank Governor will discuss with them Moldova's macroeconomic development and prospects, the results of the program with the IMF, the central bank's reform program in the context of Moldova's integration into the SEPA zone and the European community. Anca Dragu will also talk to representatives of the World Bank: Eugene Rhuggenaath, the Executive Director of the WB Group for Moldova, Antonella Bassani, as well as other influential representatives of this organization. Anca Dragu said that the financial assistance provided so far by Moldova's development partners has a positive impact on the development of the national economy: “The support provided by the development partners, especially by the IMF and the WB, is important for promoting economic reforms and creating a sustainable development framework. This commitment is directly refle cted in the improvement of citizens' living standards”.
