Gas to Transnistria will be supplied by the Hungarian company MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG and paid for by JNX General Trading L.L.C., registered in Dubai

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced this, noting that this gas will be delivered to the border with Moldova. According to him, both companies have been verified. MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG is a trader of natural gas on the European market. No violations of the national and international legislation were detected with regard to JNX General Trading L.L.C. Also, no Moldovan citizens were found among the owners of these companies. MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG will supply gas to the border with Moldova in accordance with the signed contract with Moldovagaz. Tiraspol will pay in advance the costs of gas transit from the Moldovan border to the region based on an agreement between Moldovagaz and Tiraspoltransgaz. “We authorize this transit, and Tiraspol will take several steps showing openness: it will release political prisoners, solve the problem with the lyceum in Ribnita, keep the Moldovan public television in the broadcasting grid, remove the control posts established in 2022 (11 out of 33 posts are still in force),” Dorin Recean stressed. He said it is important that this is not an agreement between the Moldovan government and Russia or other structures, but a governmental authorization, which allows Transnistrian residents to receive gas and not to freeze. According to Prime Minister, these issues will be discussed today at a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations. “We have proved that we are willing and able to help people on the left bank of the Dniester. When the Kremlin failed to provide the region with basic living conditions, leaving people in cold and darkness, we, together with European partners, managed to grant warmth to people's homes. We will continue to make rational and responsible decisions to maintain peace and mutual understanding in the whole country,” Dorin Recean wrote. // 10.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
