InfoMarket Business News Agency is 25 years old!
InfoMarket, the first and only news agency in Moldova specializing in financial, socio-economic and business information, celebrates its 25th birthday on February 7. On this day in 2000, InfoMarket launched its website infomarket.md, becoming the first independent online media in Moldova. At that time, there were more then ten news agencies in the country that distributed their news by subscription, and there was also the website of the Independent Journalism Center, which published part of the news from most of the news agencies. “We were the pioneers in our segment. From the very beginning, we managed to form and stick to a single style of business journalism - the short news format that is already recognizable today. Years have passed, and with the development of social media, we see this format being particularly in demand. However, both then and now, there is still a lack of accurate and verified information, with the difference that 25 years ago, we collected information and news in bits and pieces, while now the abundance of information creates an infodemic - an excess of information and misinformation. That is why our principle remains unchanged - we disseminate only verified and accurate information, we are careful about data sources and realize the responsibility of media content creators for the impact on social and economic processes in the country,” emphasizes Alexandru Burdeinii, Editor-in-Chief of InfoMarket Agency. Nowadays, the Business News Agency annually issues about 600 newsletters per year, which is more than 25 thousand news; it also publishes thousands of news on its website. Through them, one can track the “pulse of life” in Moldova, economic trends and the development of the business environment. For a quarter of a century InfoMarket has reflected in its newscasts major crises - gas, wine, agrarian, energy, banking, political, pandemic and others. The Agency has witnessed not only the collapse of industries, the demise of once great companies and the formatting of markets, but also the creation and growth of new businesses and spheres of activity. All this time InfoMarket has remained and continues to remain a commercially, economically and politically independent media outlet in Moldova: the Agency is not the beneficiary of grants or any third-party funding; InfoMarket operates only by selling its products and services. The editorial policy is fully determined by an editorial board of professional journalists and economists. “On behalf of the entire InfoMarket Agency team, I would like to express gratitude to subscribers and partners for their reader loyalty, partnership and support; it is invaluable for an independent media outlet. InfoMarket will continue to be in the first line of your trust,” emphasized Alexandru Burdeinii, Editor-in-Chief of the Agency. // 07.02.2025 – InfoMarket
