Moldova launches call for European Digital Innovation Hubs, opening up new prospects for economic digitalization

This was announced by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, which held an official event to launch the call for the preliminary national selection of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH). The event was chaired by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, Cătălina Plinschi, and brought together an impressive number of participants. The importance of digital transformation of businesses and public institutions was emphasized at the meeting. EDIHs are expected to play a key role in accelerating this process by providing expert support and access to cutting-edge technologies. The EDIH network already includes over 150 centers that promote digitalization in various sectors, including industry, healthcare, agriculture and energy, and Moldova will soon become a member of this network. During the event, participants received basic information about the application and selection process, budgeting for events and the consortium creation process. Success stories from Germany, Romania and Ukraine were also presented, serving as inspiration for the future European Digital Innovation Hubs in Moldova. As noted by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, international experience shows that the success of EDIH is closely linked to a quality analysis of the local economy and the digitalization needs of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region, as well as its capacity to meet them. Therefore, it is important for future centers to establish close partnerships with the business community and offer customized services that take into account the specific needs of each enterprise. The deadline for submitting applications for the pre-selection is March 31. All interested organizations, regardless of size and field of activity, are invited to participate. The list of organizations eligible to participate in the competition is extensive, and the selection criteria are detailed in the Guidelines for Applicants. This event is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with the assistance of the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) within the framework of the project "Digital Transformation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the Eastern Partnership Countries (DT4SME)". // 22.01.2025 — InfoMarket.
