
Moldova and India will step up cooperation in the fields of economy, agriculture, education, culture and healthcare and will take measures to enable an Indian airline to enter our country's market
This was discussed during a meeting held in New Delhi by Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihail Popșoi and Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. The heads of diplomacy of the two countries noted the positive dynamics of the political and diplomatic dialogue and the trend of revitalizing bilateral trade. Mihail Popșoi expressed Moldova's interest in strengthening bilateral relations by stepping up cooperation in such areas as agriculture, education, culture and healthcare. The head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of the recent inter-ministerial political consultations and continuing the dialogue on issues related to commercial exchange and investment. At the same time, he outlined in detail the main priorities of the country's foreign policy, in particular achieving the goal of integration into the European Union. An important moment of the meeting was the signing of the Declaration of Intent on Migration, which confirms the commitment of the two states to promoting the mobility of talents and skills. The document opens up new opportunities for cooperation in the field of labor mobility and exchange of experience. Herewith, the diplomatic institutions of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which was an important step in developing diplomatic skills and facilitating the exchange of experience between Moldova and India. Another important topic touched upon during the discussion concerned the progress in the process of liberalization of fresh fruit exports from Moldova to India. As noted, this represents a significant step in diversifying markets and increasing the competitiveness of our products at the international level. The parties also discussed the prospects for an Indian airline to enter the Moldovan market and agreed to conclude an agreement in the field of aviation, which will facilitate Indian investments in this sector. Discussions between the Foreign Ministers also touched upon the latest developments in regional and international security, the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
