There has begun the development of the National Programme for Accession of Moldova to the European Union for 2025-2029
The State Chancellery of Moldova announced the start of the development of the relevant government resolution. The main objective of the future national programme is to create a basic document for orientation, planning and monitoring the implementation of the commitments assumed during the negotiations on Moldova's accession to the EU. In addition, this document will serve as a tool for internal monitoring and reporting on the actions taken, and the English version will be used by the European Commission to monitor Moldova's progress in aligning its legal and institutional framework with European standards and fulfilling the commitments arising from the Association Agreement and other bilateral documents with the EU. Structurally, the National Programme for Accession of Moldova to the European Union will consist of sections on political and economic criteria and 33 chapters on accession, which corresponds to the 6 clusters described in the methodological framework of the negotiations: fundamental values; internal market; competitiveness and inclusive growth; green agenda and sustainable connectivity; natural resources, agriculture and cohesion; external relations. Each section of the National Programme for Accession of Moldova to the European Union will contain an overview of the situation, plans, cost estimates and annexes. The National Programme for Accession of Moldova to the European Union will cover 2025-2029 and will be updated annually. Recommendations of the interested parties on the draft document are accepted until 28 November. As a reminder, on 23 June 2022, Moldova received the EU candidate status and the government then approved the first national political document to achieve the EU accession criteria - the National Action Plan for Moldova's Accession to the EU for 2024-2027. At the end of June 2024, negotiations on Moldova's accession to the European Union officially began at the intergovernmental conference of the European Council, and the existing action plan must be updated taking into account the assessment received. // 14.11.2024 – InfoMarket.
