Moldova will digitize the process of documenting and resolving cases of offences
This is stipulated by a relevant draft law, which was examined at a meeting of the Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs, Appointments and Immunities and will be proposed to MPs for approval in the first reading. The bill has been drafted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The authors propose to supplement the Code of Offenses with provisions allowing for the documentation, examination and resolution of offenses, including in electronic form. In this context, a simple electronic signature will be used. This would involve signing manually and scanning the image into a file or uploading the handwritten signature into an application, which could then be applied to documents in the same format. According to the authors, the initiative will lead to improved operational efficiency, reduced costs and waiting times, and faster processes. Digital registration of signatures and changes to documents will increase the transparency of processes, ensure the security and authenticity of data, and expand access to public services for all citizens, including those living in rural areas or citizens with low mobility. Currently, employees of 44 state agencies and institutions have the authority to detect and verify offenses. // 14.11.2024 - InfoMarket.
