Moldova has been included for the first time in the report of the National Interoperability Framework Observatory (NIFO)
As reported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, NIFO has published fact sheets on digital public administration for 2024 as part of the European Commission's Interoperable Europe initiative. They contain data on digital services, interoperability, digital public administration in 40 countries. Moldova is included in these fact sheets for the first time, which is an important step in bringing our country in line with the European standards of interoperability and digital administration. These fact sheets document progress and stimulate the exchange of best practices among EU Member States, thus strengthening efforts to create a digital and interoperable Europe. They are updated annually and contain key data on digital transformation and interoperability of public services, as well as specific indicators from the e-government benchmarking report. The country bulletin notes that in 2023-2024 Moldova has launched 12 new initiatives in the field of digitalization, of which 5 on digitalization of public services. It is noted that the country has established 2 key institutions for cyber security: the National Agency for Cyber Security and the National Institute for Cybersecurity Innovation (Cybercor). The Digital Society Development Program is now being developed, and the main document that contains the vision for digitalization is the already approved Digital Transformation Strategy for 2023-2030. An important step is the launch of the EVO app and the approval in 2023 of the Law on Access to Information of Public Interest, elaboration of terms for the management of the ecosystem in the field of artificial intelligence, etc. The NIFO documents note that today in Moldova 54% of public services for businesses and 48% for citizens are available online. // 22.07.2024 - InfoMarket.
