This was reported in the latest edition of the World Bank's Global Economic Prospects report for June 2024, published on June 11. As noted in it, in 2026 the World Bank expects the Moldovan economy to grow at 4.5%. It should be noted that in its previous edition of the World Economic Prospects report for January 2024, the World Bank maintained its GDP growth forecast for Moldova in 2024 and 2025 at 4.2% and 4.1%, respectively. As previously reported by the InfoMarket agency, Moldova's GDP in 2023, according to preliminary data from the National Bureau of Statistics, amounted to 300.42 billion lei, an increase of 0.7% compared to 2022. The economic prospects for Moldova from the new Economic Survey of the World Bank were presented earlier by World Bank experts at a meeting of the Economic Press Club. In particular, WB experts expect that in 2024 Moldova’s GDP will amount to 321.3 billion lei, in 2025 - 349.7 billion lei, and in 2026 - 383 billion lei, and GDP growth will be 2.2%, 3.9% and 4.5%, respectively. Average annual inflation is forecast at 4.9% in 2024, 5.2% in 2025, and 5% in 2026. It is planned that the growth of Moldovan exports during this period will be 4.5%, 5.1% and 5.1%, respectively, and imports - 4%, 4.1% and 4.1%, respectively.
