Its inauguration was attended by President Maia Sandu at the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM). She said that economic growth is also based on the growth of the community of women entrepreneurs, women leaders who innovate, create and manage companies. “I welcome the creation of the GLIA Impact Hub Innovation Center at ASEM, which will contribute to the development of female entrepreneurship and serve as a platform for encouragement, training and cooperation for young women from Moldova,” the head of state said. The agreement on the creation of the GLIA Impact Hub was signed on March 23, 2023 between ASEM, AFAM (Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Moldova), GEN Moldova and the FTA-Future Technologies Activity project, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden and the United Kingdom. The signatories pledged to intensify their efforts to develop a space dedicated to training, consulting, networking and other activities, startups, programs aimed at supporting women in developing a safe business future. The total cost of the GLIA Impact HUB project is about $1 million.
