Premier Energy, owned by EMMA Capital Group, has received approval from Romania's Financial Supervisory Authority to publish its IPO prospectus on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

According to a statement by EMMA Capital Group, this marks another important step in the process through which the group intends to offer for sale up to 32% of its shares. Premier Energy Group is one of the largest renewable energy players in Southeast Europe, currently boasting more than 1,000 MW of renewable energy generation owned, managed or in various stages of development. At the same time, it is one of the fastest growing electricity suppliers in the region, currently serving around 2.4 million customers, the majority of whom are households and small businesses. In Moldova, Premier Energy is by far the largest electricity supplier and distributor, and in Romania, in addition to its vertically integrated renewable energy activities, it is also the third largest natural gas distribution and supply company. "Premier Energy Group has achieved impressive growth over the last decade. Its revenue has grown from €13 million in 2012 to approximately €1.3 billion today," says EMMA Capital partner Peter Stohrr, adding that a listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange is therefore a logical step that will further strengthen the group and allow it to continue its rapid growth and investment in renewable energy generation assets in the region. As noted, financing the further development of renewable energy generation will be a clear priority when using the proceeds of the IPO. In particular, this will entail the acquisition of additional wind and solar farms. In April, for example, Premier Energy announced the purchase of an 80 MW wind farm near the Romanian city of Constanta. EMMA Capital is a private investment holding company founded in 2012 by Jiří Šmejc. In recent years, the company has focused primarily on EU markets, but is also present in other markets in Europe and Asia. EMMA Capital plays an active role in the companies in which it acquires an equity stake, actively participating in their management, development and possible restructuring. EMMA's investment priority is retail and customer-oriented companies. // 10.05.2024 - InfoMarket.
