The European Union will help Moldova with the implementation of the developed Program of Economic Reforms in the country for 2024-2026.

This was discussed during a meeting that Finance Minister Petru Rotaru held with representatives of the European Commission's Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) and the EU Delegation to our country. According to the Ministry of Finance, the discussions concerned the Economic Reform Program for 2024-2026 and recommendations that will be formulated on it by EU experts. Representatives of DG ECFIN highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Finance and noted that they will continue to support the department in implementing the actions provided for in the reform program. Petru Rotaru thanked for the assistance provided and noted that the relevant cooperation will bring very good results, and the recommendations of EU experts are important for the progress of our country in the process of accession to the EU. Economic reform program for 2024-2026 was developed and published by the Ministry of Finance in January 2024 and aims to prepare Moldova for future participation in the coordination and management of EU economic policy. The document proposes improved structural reforms to support macroeconomic stability, enhance competitiveness, create conditions for inclusive growth and create jobs. Based on the results of the Program evaluation, EU experts will formulate recommendations for their part, which will be presented to the Ministry of Finance for analysis and implementation in order to improve and optimize processes. The parties also held methodological discussions regarding budget forecasts and tax policy goals, sources of internal and external financing, as well as the need to strengthen the capacity of institutions responsible for public investment. // 22.02.2024 — InfoMarket.
